Fresh Basil is the culmination of decades of experience. Originally a horse drawn fire station and then a Post Office Garage the shop underwent a year long refurbishment program which saw the addition of a mezzanine floor. Completely stripped of its old floors, walls and even roof Fresh Basil retains its character on the outside but has been totally uniquely modernised on the inside retaining as much of the original British steel architecture as possible.

It’s not just the building that has history, the shop is named after a great pioneer of fresh food retailing, Basil Bothamley, and will forever stand as a legacy to him.
